Shandra Burnett is honored to be representing the Chattanooga Allergy Clinic in the North Georgia Dancing Stars in 2019! She is a Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in both Tennessee and Georgia and frequently works in the clinics Ft. Oglethorpe and Dalton, GA offices. Shandra worked as a peri-operative Registered Nurse in Chattanooga for a decade prior to getting her Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a native of Chattanooga, TN. Married to Adam Burnett, her husband of 19 years, they reside in East Brainerd with their daughter Molly.

Shandra frequents various stages in the Chattanooga area. A performer for over 30 years, she has had numerous leading and ensemble roles in a variety of musicals and plays.  A dancer for most of her life, Shandra currently dances with the Civic Ballet of Chattanooga and has performed with the corps de ballet in multiple classical ballets. She has also danced a variety of roles in numerous productions of the Nutcracker. She began her dance training in a small private dance studio until her early teens. She has danced with Ballet Tennessee as well Karen Horton School of Dance at different times during her life. She was a member of the Sugar Mocs dance team for 3 years while in college at UTC.  Perhaps the proudest moment of her dancing career was having been cast as a dancer to perform in the Opening Ceremonies of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games that took place in Atlanta, Georgia.

As a healthcare provider, Shandra has witnessed first-hand the limited access to quality healthcare among various populations within our communities. Lack of resources and a host of other factors contribute to the disparity that exists. The aim of Primary Healthcare Centers is to provide accessible services to everyone regardless of their ability to pay.  No child should ever be denied quality health care and this group of non-profit community health centers aims to meet this need. It is for this worthy cause that Shandra considers it a privilege participate in North Georgia’s Dancing Stars fundraising event.

You will be able to find rehearsal photos and progress updates on her family Facebook page at well as on her personal Instagram  at It is Shandra’s hope that you would thoughtfully consider supporting this life-changing organization by making a donation in her name your votes her way.
